Online Learning Strategies and Netiquette

Hi, readers! This article must be not new information anymore, yet still hot issue for people these days. Internet to this day is becoming more and more influential and addicted. Therefore, this issue is very interesting to be discussed. Especially for teaching and learning English. Many optional applications, features, and tools support EFL/ESL teachers and learners. One of the newest term that I have just known is Netiquette. For you, guys, who has just heard about this word, I will tell you a bit about it.
What is actually Netiquette?
Netiquette is a guidelines that shows you some tips or steps in online learning.
Different people or books give different guideline. Every information is important; each of it has different ways in explaining and suggesting the points that should be considered in running online learning. For example information in these websites: "Netiquette: Rules of Behavior on the Internet", "The Core Rules of of Netiquette" and "Strategies for Online Learning Success"

So, why do we need netiquette?
Even though we have done online discussion or learning forum before, we haven't realized about the proper ways to do that. We haven't considered about strategies for online learning; as we have known each other, and we believe that there wouldn't be any misunderstanding. However, after reading some articles (website) about Netiquette, I can figure out that we should be concerned about the way we discuss and explore our opinion or idea. We should be aware of people who read our comment/opinion are not the same as us. They have different personality, different thinking, different background knowledge, and different way of speaking (tone) when they read our comment. Therefore, we should be clear and specific in sharing our idea. In addition, as explained in the websites about Netiquette; there are some points we need to be aware of, such as out time management, information about the course, and so on. Thus, Netiquette is significantly important for us (online learners).
